Who Can Become a Power Partner?
We welcome anyone passionate about raising awareness for Periodic Paralysis! Power Partners can include:
- People living with Periodic Paralysis (PP)
- Supporters and loved ones of those affected by PP
- Neurologists, geneticists, endocrinologists, physical therapists, nurses, and general practitioners who want to improve diagnosis and care.
- Rare Disease Advocates & Organizations focused on awareness, research, and policy change for rare conditions.
- Medical & Science Students – Future doctors, researchers, and genetic counselors who want to learn more about PP.
- Nonprofit & Community Leaders – Those passionate about disability rights, health equity, and patient advocacy.
- Social Media Influencers & Content Creators – Especially those in the health, rare disease, or chronic illness spaces.
- Educators & School Counselors – To help students who may experience unexplained symptoms and need support.
- Corporate Partners – Companies interested in supporting rare disease awareness through sponsorships or employee engagement.
What Do Power Partners Do?
We believe global awareness begins with local action! As an Ambassador, you play a vital role in elevating Periodic Paralysis awareness. Leading up to World Periodic Paralysis Day on March 23, Ambassadors lead efforts to spread the word in their communities. Each Ambassador’s contributions are unique, but activities may include:
- Raising awareness in your school, workplace, or community
- Sharing your story through your customizable Ambassador Page
- Challenging friends and family to raise awareness or donate
- Reaching out to local media and healthcare providers
- Participating in or hosting events and activities
- Joining a supportive community of fellow advocates
No matter how you contribute, you’ll be part of a global movement making a difference for those impacted by PP.
What is World Periodic Paralysis Day?
World Periodic Paralysis Day, celebrated on March 23, is dedicated to raising global awareness of Periodic Paralysis. Co-led by patient advocacy organizations worldwide, WPPD unites the international PP community to:
- Inspire action
- Increase public understanding
- Amplify the voices of individuals living with PP
Together, we aim to reduce diagnostic delays, improve patient outcomes, and foster a sense of community. Use the hashtag #WorldPPDay to join the conversation and help spread awareness.
How to Become a Power Partner
- Sign Up: Register to become a WPPD Ambassador and create your customizable Ambassador Page to share your story and connection to this cause.
- Review the Toolkit: After signing up, you’ll receive the WPPD Ambassadors Toolkit, which includes resources and tips for spreading awareness and hosting events.
- Spread the Word: Share your Ambassador Page with friends and family. Challenge them to join you in raising awareness or make a donation.
- Join the Movement: Connect with fellow advocates and take part in WPPD activities to inspire hope and resilience.
